This feed supplement trial began on June 25, 2003 and ended on July 24, 2003.
The subject is a 2 year old registered AQHA sorrel filly that had been out to pasture for approx. 12 months. When the filly was brought up to the barn to initiate training she was observed to be underweight and suffering from hives and poor skin/coat condition evidenced by dry, flaking skin and multiple, oozing welts.
At the beginning of the supplement trial the filly was wormed with Ivermectin product and placed on grass mix hay free choice along with 3lbs of 14% sweet feed twice daily. The supplement HEALTHY COAT was added to the feed ration once daily for 30 days. The filly was also ground worked lightly 3 times a week and turned out daily during the trial.
At the end of the trial the filly had gained weight and the skin and hair coat had improved tremendously. All evidence of the hives was gone at the end of the trial.
